Five people critical after passenger trains collide

Scores of people were injured, at least five critically, when two passenger trains collided head-on in South Africa last night.

Officials said 25 other people were admitted to hospital after the Trans Karoo Express crashed into the stationary Blue Train, South Africa’s premiere luxury train, at about 11.30pm (10.30pm Irish time) in Northern Cape Province.
