British prime minister Tony Blair today outlined five priority areas the European Union should focus on in the coming years, including education and energy supplies, in order to meet the challenges of globalisation.

British prime minister Tony Blair today outlined five priority areas the European Union should focus on in the coming years, including education and energy supplies, in order to meet the challenges of globalisation.

In a speech to the European Parliament, Blair said the EU should also get a quick agreement on a common anti-terrorism strategy, and called for a budget deal for 2007 to 2013 by December.
