10 more dead in Iraq following new wave of bombings

Nine people are dead following a car bomb in the northern Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya in Iraq and heavy casualties are being reported.

The blast occurred near a building that houses officials who deal with militia forces.

Meanwhile, a seven year old boy was killed in a roadside bomb in Baghdad when it exploded near a US military convoy, wounding nine other civilians.

The new spate of violent bombing follows last night’s attacks on Baghdad’s Palestine Hotel in which at least seventeen people are thought to have died.

There has been an increase in bombings and other attacks in Iraq since the October 15 referendum on the draft constitution.
