UK population to rise by seven million

The population of the UK is set to rise by 7.2 million in the next 25 years with more than half the increase due to immigration, British government experts predicted today.

That would see the number of people living in the UK reach 67 million by 2031, a leap of 12% compared to 59.8 million last year.
