Proceedings in the trial of Iraq’s former leader Saddam Hussein were delayed today for an unknown reason.

The trial had been expected to begin at 8am Irish Time, with news reports saying it was to be held in old Baath Party headquarters in Baghdad’s heavily-fortified Green Zone.
