Italian air traffic controllers were staging a four-hour strike today to call for better training and shorter working hours, causing state airline Alitalia to scrap 102 flights.

Italian air traffic controllers were staging a four-hour strike today to call for better training and shorter working hours, causing state airline Alitalia to scrap 102 flights.

The strike, limited to controllers working at Rome airports, was scheduled to begin at noon (11am Irish Time).
