Suicide car-bomb kills nine Iraqis in Baghdad

A suicide car bomb exploded at an Iraqi army checkpoint in western Baghdad today, killing nine people and wounding 12, most of them soldiers, police said.

The blast occurred at about noon in the Amiriyah area of the capital, killing eight Iraqi soldiers and one civilian, and wounding 12 soldiers, said police Captain Qassim Hussein.
