Explosion sends black smoke over Baghdad's Green Zone

A loud explosion occurred in central Baghdad today, sending a plume of bck smoke up over the Green Zone, where Iraq’s parliament and foreign embassies are based.

It was not immediately clear what caused the blast, or whether it had occurred inside the Green Zone or outside one of the many heavily guarded checkpoints outside it.
