US soldier dies in Iraq

A US soldier has died of gunshot wounds suffered in western Iraq, the military announced today.

The 56th Brigade Combat Team soldier was shot yesterday morning near Taqaddum, a town close to the city of Fallujah and about 40 miles west of Baghdad.
