Suspected insurgents opened fire on a convoy carrying Iraqi Oil Minister Ibrahim Bahr in Baghdad today.

The minister escaped unharmed, but two of his bodyguards were killed and another was wounded, police said.

The attack occurred at 9.30am local time in western Baghdad, said police Lt. Mohammed Kheyon, who provided the casualty figures.
