Bird Flu: Britain-Brazil vaccine link
Brazil should begin producing a bird flu vaccine by early next year, part of a worldwide effort to contain the spread of the deadly disease, a spokesman for the Sao Paulo Sate Health Department said yesterday.
The vaccine will be produced at the health department’s Butantan Institute, from a strain that will be sent by Britain’s National Institute for Biological Standards, the institute’s spokesman Tiago Oliveira said.
