Dismembered body of girl, 15, found dumped on estate
The dismembered body of a 15-year-old girl was found dumped on an estate, police said today.
Detectives believe Rochelle Holness had been abducted and murdered.
The grim discovery was made in Catford, south London, on Wednesday.
A man and a woman, both aged 47, have been arrested. They are not related to her.
Severed body parts were found inside binliners and dumped on open ground within an estate at Milford Towers, Catford.
The two people who have been arrested are not believed to have been known to Rochelle and were arrested at a nearby flat.
Rochelle, who was from Lewisham, south London, had gone out to use a telephone box near the estate on Sunday night and was later reported missing.
Rochelle was found after an ambulance was called to treat an injured man at a flat on the estate on Wednesday morning.
Ambulance service personnel called in police who arrested the man and a woman at the flat.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment to cuts before being discharged.
He and the woman were then taken to separate south London police stations for interview.
Officers later discovered Rochelle’s remains. She was of mixed African Caribbean parentage.
Post mortem tests were being carried out this afternoon. No weapon has been found by police.
Detective Superintendent Paul McAleenan said: “Rochelle was last seen on Sunday evening at around 7pm.
“She was believed to be going to use a phone box in the vicinity of Milford Towers and she was later reported missing.
“At this early stage, it is not clear when Rochelle was killed.
“I want to hear from anyone who was in the area at any time from the evening of Sunday September 25 to the early hours of Wednesday September 28.
“We want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, either inside the estate or in the roads that lead to the estate.”
