Plans for Ground Zero Freedom Centre abandoned

Controversial plans to build an International Freedom Centre at Ground Zero in New York have been abandoned after a long and bitter dispute.

The display was to have illustrated how the victims of September 11, 2001 generated sympathy around the world.
