The suspect in the failed July 21 London bombings who was arrested in Rome arrived at the city’s Ciampino airport in the Italian capital today to be extradited to Britain, Italian police said.

Hamdi Issac, also known as Hussein Osman, left his prison cell on the outskirts of Rome and will be handed over to British authorities later this morning, police said.

He was arrested on an international arrest warrant in the Italian capital on July 29.

British authorities want to prosecute him for his alleged role in the attempted bombing at the Shepherd’s Bush underground station.
