Palestinians 'enter evacuated Jewish settlement'
Palestinians today entered an evacuated Jewish settlement in the West Bank, the second that the Israeli army has left in a week.
An Israeli army spokesman confirmed that troops had dismantled infrastructure in the settlement of Sanur and will no longer conduct daily patrols there.
Israel last month evacuated the residents of Sanur and three other Jewish settlements in the West Bank, in addition to 21 settlements in the Gaza Strip. The total pullout from Gaza was completed last week.
The army has yet to leave the other two West Bank settlements, Ganim and Kadim, Israel Radio said. The Israeli army will continue to have overall control over the West Bank area of the settlements.
Hundreds of Palestinians last week entered the West Bank settlement of Homesh, burning brush and looting parts of buildings and sidewalks.
