Hurricane watch issued for Florida Keys

A hurricane watch was issued for the Florida Keys as a tropical depression moved over the southern Bahamas today and was expected to strengthen into a named storm, forecasters said.

The watch means that hurricane conditions of winds of at least 74mph are possible by late tomorrow, according to the National Hurricane Centre in Miami.
