Palestinian shot dead on Gaza-Egypt border

A Palestinian man was shot and killed today on the Gaza-Egypt border, but the source of fire was not immediately clear, a Palestinian health ministry official said.

The victim was identified as 34-year-old Nafez Ibrahim Atiya, said Dr. Moawiya Hassanain, a spokesman for the ministry.

The incident came as hundreds of Palestinians climbed over a wall on the Gaza-Egypt border today, just hours after Israeli troops pulled out of Gaza.
