Bomb scare aboard Saudi flight at Sri Lanka airport
An emergency was declared at Sri Lanka’s only international airport in Colombo today after a bomb scare aboard a Saudi Air flight minutes before take off, airport officials said.
All passengers were told to disembark and the plane was isolated after an anonymous call was received about a bomb on board the flight, said airport security chief Bandula Abeynayake.
A search operation was being carried out, but the airport has not being shut down, he said.
