Eight feared dead in Austrian cable car accident
Austrian police say between five and eight people have died in a cable car accident.
A transport helicopter dropped a piece of concrete onto a cable car, throwing it to the ground and catapulting passengers out of two other cars, police said.
At least five people were killed, they said. Chair lift company officials spoke of eight dead.
The Austria Press Agency said the accident near Soelden, in Tyrol province, occurred after the helicopter lost its load, which was being transported to the top station of the chair lift for construction work.
