Police arrest seven suspected members of kidnapping ring

Police freed a Moroccan hostage and arrested seven suspected members of a kidnapping ring, three of them relatives of a reputed ringleader of the Madrid bombings, the Interior Ministry said today.

The ministry said it did not know if the gang in general, or just the three suspects detained, were linked to last year’s commuter train attacks, which killed 191 people and wounded more than 1,500.
