European Union experts opened talks in Brussels today, seeking to offer advice to the 25 member nations on how to react to the outbreak of bird flu in Russia which has indicated a westward spread of the disease.

European Union experts opened talks in Brussels today, seeking to offer advice to the 25 member nations on how to react to the outbreak of bird flu in Russia which has indicated a westward spread of the disease.

The EU already has a ban in place on imports of Russian poultry and officials indicated today’s meeting was unlikely see the bloc as a whole following the Netherlands in ordering poultry farmers to keep birds indoors.
