Man allegedly hammers girlfriend to death, then kills himself

A British man allegedly killed his girlfriend with a hammer and later hanged himself on Spain’s Mallorca island, police officials said today.

The two bodies were found this afternoon inside their rented apartment in the city of Palma after police were alerted to a strong smell coming out of the building by the couple’s neighbours, said a police spokesman. He said the bodies could have been lying there for up to three days.

The man was identified as Daniel Woolcock, a disc jockey in Palma. His hometown was not immediately disclosed. His girlfriend was identified as Ana Minissale, in her 40s.
