Saudi security forces target wanted militants
Saudi security forces today ambushed a residential area in the capital Riyadh, suspected of being a hideout for one or more wanted militants.
Interior ministry spokesman Mansour al-Turki said security forces were carrying out a “security ambush” in a residential area north of Riyadh, which he declined to specify because of security concerns.
“The police suspect that one or more of the wanted elements are in this place,” he said.
The Dubai-based Al-Arabiya television network reported a number of wanted militants killed and others injured during the ambush. Al-Turki had no immediate comment on any casualties.
