Bangladesh rocked by dozens of blasts
Dozens of bomb blasts shook the capital Dhaka and districts across Bangladesh today, police said, as authorities scrambled to count casualties and assess damage.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts, but leaflets from a banned Islamic group, the Jumatul Mujahedin, were found at the scene of explosions in the capital Dhaka, as well as Chittagong, Sylhet and Mymensingh, Bangladeshi media reported. The group wants to establish an Islamic state in predominantly Muslim Bangladesh.
