A Cypriot Helios Airways jet with 115 passengers and six crew members on board crashed today north of Athens, the Defence Ministry and fire department said.

A Cypriot Helios Airways jet with 115 passengers and six crew members on board crashed today north of Athens, the Defence Ministry and fire department said.

The plane crashed at about 12.20pm local time (10.20am Irish time) near the coastal town of Kalamos, just north of Athens.
