US closes Saudi embassy after threat

The US Embassy and consulates in Saudi Arabia will close today and tomorrow because of a threat against US government buildings, the embassy has said.

In a statement yesterday, the embassy said mission personnel will limit non-official travel during the next two days and urged Americans to keep “a high level of vigilance”. The statement did not elaborate on the nature of the threat.
