Remains of nine babies found in Germany
Police discovered the remains of nine newborn babies in a German village and arrested a woman believed to be their mother, prosecutors said today.
The bodies were found yesterday in Brieskow-Finkenheerd, an eastern village near the Polish border, said Michael Neff, a spokesman for prosecutors in nearby Frankfurt an der Oder.
Neff said the 39-year-old woman was believed to be the mother of the children and was being held on suspicion of manslaughter. Her name was not released.
It was not immediately clear where authorities found the bodies.
