LA-London flight diverted after 'terror' scare
A London-bound flight from Los Angeles was diverted to Boston today after three Pakistani passengers were considered to be behaving suspiciously.
The men were taken into custody but released after questioning and no charges were filed.
The United Airlines flight landed at Logan Airport shortly before 3am.
Gail Marcinkiewicz, an FBI spokeswoman, said: “The flight crew made an observation of their behaviour which caused the flight to be diverted to Boston. It’s all being resolved. They will be on another flight this morning for Heathrow.”
Police searched the aircraft and found nothing suspicious, an airport spokesman said. The three passengers were not identified.
The incident is just one of several false alarms reported on public transport amid heightened tensions since the London bombings.
Five British Sikhs were marched off a tourist bus in New York on Sunday after a bus worker believed they were acting suspiciously. The city mayor later apologised.
