Couple killed in Gaza road ambush

Palestinian gunmen ambushed an Israeli vehicle travelling on the main road connecting the Gaza Strip settlements to Israel today, killing a husband and wife and wounding four other Israelis, rescue workers and the army said.

Earlier, the army said it had captured a would-be suicide bomber armed with a 5 kilogram (11 pound) explosive belt, who infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip and planned to attack Tel Aviv.
