Four freed after anti-terror quiz

Four men arrested under anti-terror laws in Britain have been released without charge, police said today.

Locals alerted officers after the men were allegedly seen behaving suspiciously in the Town Road area of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, on Wednesday morning.

They were detained after a police swoop on the car they were driving and taken for questioning.

The vehicle was removed for examination and all three released yesterday evening.

Staffordshire Police were keen to stress that the arrests had no links to the London bombings.

A force spokesman said: “The men have all been released from custody following questioning. They face no further action.”
