A suicide attacker wearing an explosives belt detonated himself today outside an army recruiting centre in Baghdad, killing at least 10 people, police and army officials said.

A suicide attacker wearing an explosives belt detonated himself today outside an army recruiting centre in Baghdad, killing at least 10 people, police and army officials said.

The attacker blew himself up at the entrance to the recruiting centre.

Dr Muhannad Jawad from Yarmouk Hospital said 10 people had been killed and 21 others injured.

The same recruiting centre was subjected to a similar attack on July 10, which killed 25 people and wounded 47.
