Lethal bird flu strikes family in Indonesia
Indonesia recorded its first human death linked to bird flu today after tests confirmed that a man who died earlier this month had the virus, the health minister said.
Indonesia said last week it suspected the deadly H5N1 strain of the bird flu virus in the deaths of a man and his two daughters, who lived on the outskirts of Jakarta. Blood and other samples were sent to Hong Kong for further testing.
