Car blast rocks Gaza city, two feared dead

An explosion completely destroyed a car in a Gaza City street today, scattering shards of metal hundreds of metres away. Two people who appeared dead were evacuated from the scene, witnesses said.

The cause of the explosion was not immediately known, but pieces of homemade rockets that militants have launched against Israeli targets were found in the street. One person’s body was blown over a wall and into a garden.
