Suspected terrorists escape from US detention

Four suspected terrorists have escaped from the main US base in Afghanistan, sparking a massive ground and air search, a US military spokeswoman said today.

“They are considered dangerous and are suspected terrorists. That is why they were detained initially,” said spokeswoman, Lt. Cindy Moore.

She said US helicopters, American troops on the ground and Afghan forces were scouring the area around Bagram, the main US base in Afghanistan, for the four suspects.
