G8 pledges $50bn aid for Africa

Tony Blair announced a $50bn aid deal for Africa today in a G8 agreement he said could “lift the shadow of terrorism”.

Speaking in Gleneagles, the British Prime Minister contrasted the aims of the assembled world leaders with those behind the London bombings.
