Seven killed in crash after exam party

A minibus crashed into a house in southern Germany today, killing seven young people who were on their way back from a party to celebrate the end of their school exams, police said.

The seven, aged 14 to 18, died shortly after midnight when their ageing minibus skidded off the road, flattened a streetlight and slammed roof-first into a house near the Bavarian town of Straubing, police said.

Police suspect the 22-year-old driver was going too fast as the group returned from a party in a hunter’s hut, spokesman Klaus Pickel said.
