Blair rejects call to freeze EU rebate

British Prime Minister Tony Blair today turned down a proposal from the Luxembourg presidency of the EU to freeze Britain's European rebate between 2007 and 2013.

It would have cost the UK between €25bn and €30bn, Downing Street claimed.
