Brazil’s attorney general has filed a petition with the Supreme Court to have research with embryonic stem cells declared unconstitutional.

In his petition, Attorney General Claudio Fonteles argued that such research violated the constitutional right to life and human dignity. “The human embryo is a human life,” a news agency quoted him as saying.
