Zimbabwe: Thousands more shanty homes destroyed by police

Police continued demolishing thousands of shacks and vendors’ kiosks in opposition strongholds today, burning a six-mile long line of curio stalls along the road near Victoria Falls.

A spokesman for the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change party called the crackdown tyranny and urged the people to resist.
