Iraq: Suicide bomber attacks police officers
A suicide bomber attacked a crowd of police special forces gathering outside a police station to the south of Baghdad today, said a police official.
There are believed to be a number of casualties.
Captain Muthana Khalid Ali said the attack happened in Hillah, about 60 miles south of Baghdad, when a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blew himself up in the middle of group of policemen.
Ali said the police had gathered outside the police station to protest a government decision to disband their special forces unit.
