Boy dies after falling out of aircraft wheel well

A boy was killed in western China today when he fell out of the wheel well of a China Eastern flight, the government said.

The boy, thought to be about 10 years old, fell on to the tarmac at the Dunhuang Airport in Gansu province.

He fell from the aircraft shortly after it took off at 12.50am Irish Time, the official Xinhua News Agency said.

An investigation was underway, it said.

No further details were immediately available.
