Dissidents 'routed' as MPs cheer Blair

British Prime Minister Tony Blair faced down his critics today at a packed meeting of Labour MPs at the start of the new Commons session.

He was given a rousing standing ovation after addressing the MPs at Westminster in a meeting that lasted about 80 minutes.
