Blair a safe bet as bookie pays out

Bookmaker Paddy Power is already paying out on bets on Labour to win the British General Election.

The group are paying out on a Labour win for all bets placed before Thursday April 28. Labour's lead in the opinion polls has seen betting on Blair winning the election roll out from an initial 1/14 when the election was called in April to 1/25 when Paddy Power began paying out today

Paddy Power, head of communications for the bookie, said: "Paddy Power has seen very little action for anyone but Labour in the outright market, Tony is returning to number 10 and punters can come and collect their cash."
