Firecrackers explosion kills 10

At least 10 people died when firecrackers they were making for a Hindu religious festival exploded in southern India, police said today.

Another 13 people were injured in the blast last night in a remote village in Srikakulam district, nearly 500 miles east of Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh state.
