Communist rebels dragged 10 people from their homes and executed them in southern Nepal for refusing to join the guerrillas, officials and human rights activists said today.

Maoist fighters stormed the village of Somani, about 150 miles south-west of Kathmandu, on Friday night and began hauling males out of their houses, the Royal Nepalese Army said.
