Diplomat missing in Iraq

A Pakistani diplomat has gone missing in Iraq, a senior government official said today, amid fears that he might have been kidnapped.

The diplomat, Malik Mohammed Javed, left his home in Baghdad on Saturday morning and has not been seen since. A senior Pakistani official said that the man was missing, but would not give details or say what his role is in Pakistan’s embassy.
