Snowboarder killed in French Alps

A British snowboarder died today after falling into a crevasse near Mont Blanc in the French Alps, mountain police said.

The 25-year-old man, who was not identified, fell more than 98 feet after a snow bridge collapsed beneath him in Vallée Blanche, an off-piste route on the Mont Blanc massif, police said.
