Rescue operation underway as three swept into sea

A major rescue operation was launched in England today after three people were swept into the sea, the coastguard said.

Two of the trio, believed to be a man and a woman, were recovered from Scarborough’s North Bay and taken to Scarborough hospital, the Humber coastguard said.
