Militant's death likely to upset fragile truce

Israeli troops today killed an armed Palestinian militant who was planning attacks on Israelis, during a raid on his West Bank home, the army said, in a development that could further destabilise a fragile truce.

Relations between Israelis and Palestinians are already tense because of an impasse over Israel’s transfer of West Bank towns to Palestinian control.
