Egyptian King Tutankhamun was not murdered 3,500 years ago, a CT scan on his mummified remains has revealed.

But he may have suffered a badly broken leg shortly before his death at the age of 19 – a wound that could have become infected, said Zahi Hawass, Egypt’s leading archaeologist.

He announced the results of the CT scan about two months after it was performed on Tut’s mummy.
